For the past 6 years, Little Green Thumbs has been providing stimulating, hands on programs for children with focus on the environment and nutrition. It has proved to be a great success.
The Tomato Patch Program is a great way to introduce children to such concepts as backyard safety, sun safety, plant life cycles etc… Little Green Thumbs has visited many primary schools and child care centres over the years, and now provides services to shopping centres, focusing on the school holiday periods. 

The program offered in a shopping centre differs from that which is offered in schools. Instead of a show, we provide the ”potting trailer” display which allows up to 120 children per day to plant their own tomato seedling to take home and care for. The children are treated to friendly one on one lessons in the planting process and have the opportunity to experience the wonders of different plant species on display.  The trailer presentation is both fun and inviting and maintains a high level of cleanliness within the centre.

A pre-Christmas package is also available. This works on the same level as the Tomato Patch Program with the children planting miniature Christmas trees instead of tomatos. A craft table can be provided so that children can decorate their pot to meet with the seasons festivities.

      

      Requirements: The set up area requires at least 4 mtrs x 2 mtrs. All advertising is the responsibility of the centre. Photo downloads and promotional images can be provided to assist with this.

Cost:  Tomato Patch Program, $2500.00 for 6 days, 4 hours per day. This allows up to 720 children to plant their own free tomato seedling to take home. If more stock is needed the charge is set at a product cost rate only.

Christmas Tree Program, $2850.00 for 6 days, 4 hours per day. This allows up to 600 children to plant their own free Christmas tree to take home. Bookings for this program must be placed by the 1st of August to allow time for stock propagation.
